Great podcast; one big frustration
I’ve been binging on this podcast and have been enjoying them a lot as a person who comes from a plain background and can relate to a lot of the the heartbreak in the stories shared here. The one frustration I have with it is the way the hosts constantly interject and interrupt the guest who’s story is being told, with “Me too!” comments and one-up-man-ship. It makes it feel like a poorly written novel where the author feels like she/he has to explain every feeling and emotion and give context instead of letting the reader just hear the story, and develop their own feelings and conclusions. Active listening is great, interrupting and conversation hogging is not.

More reviews of The Plain People's Podcast
The hosts often talk over and are many decibels higher than the person telling their story. It’s jarring

I wish I could leave but I can’t. So anyway thanks for...Read full review »
