Frauds
The latest episode with Josh Beaton exposed something I wasn’t aware of. But now my eyes are a little more open. He, and Nikki, both advised to setting up a 501c3 to make money as a photographer under the guise of giving back to the community. They specifically outline the steps on how to set it up and get paid by the foundation. In this episode Josh made the comment of “our clients were middle class white girls” and he alluded to the fact he wasn’t getting paid enough from that demographic. So he created a foundation to get millions donated by the Gates Family, Jeff Bezos ex wife and so on. He then made himself and his wife the head of the foundation to collect a salary from. It’s so disturbing that this is being taught in this industry. I was so shocked, but I guess I was naive. After browsing through his Instagram page I immediately noticed that his images are nothing special. They are basic. Then I checked out Nikki’s page. Again, nothing amazing here. I’ve always thought she was good but I never thought she was great. I’ve always wondered how she was placed on the same level as Sue B. Now, after hearing this episode, I understand more as to why they make tons of money. It’s all fake. We’ve all been fooled.

This is such a great podcast. Nikki is down to Earth, asks great questions and I really feel like I’m getting to know all the photographers she sits down with. I look forward to hearing more!
