“Loved this first episode. It’s interesting to hear how Daniel Kwan was hesitant to be a director and how both Daniels have transformed their sets and auditioning processes to fit their own personalities and ways of working. More comedy troupe leader and summer camp counselor vibes rather than adopting the persona of dictator and just bossing everyone around. There are so many great stories and lessons here I’ll be revisiting it often for fun and when I’m feeling a bit lost (like a compass). I think one of my biggest takeaways too is that I can read all the books, watch interviews but at some point I gotta make those mistakes and learn for myself and it’s totally ok. Ryan is also an excellent interviewer that knows when to interject and ask more and when to give them time and space to answer. Really looking forward to the rest of the episodes coming out and hope they do a follow up episode to this one.”
