“Thank you, Jake and Jonathan, for this amazing podcast! I have incorporated listening to you into my daily habits - love to listen to your thoughts straight after work to get my 10 000 steps and re-energise. At first I wasn’t a big fan of your intro (I’m a singer), but you’re getting better and now I’m always curious what you come up with next time.
I have a few questions for you guys.
1) What do you think does it take to complete a successful Google Design Sprint by yourself? I’m actually writing a thesis about this and would be delighted to hear your thoughts about solo sprinting.
2) When a design makes sense business-wise, but might negatively affect the user’s psychology, what do you do?
Let’s say you’re AB-testing a CTA ad on your web page for example - ad A is an aggressive f-ing buy this now or regret later!!!!, B is a subtle reminder. AB test shows that A gets far more conversion than B. But making users experience regret and fear of missing out - even if it’s beneficial for the company, is there a line? And if there is, should the designers be the ones to keep that line?
Thanks and rock on! 💪
Laura
PS. Tried to listen to you in the shower as advised. Was nice until my shampoo fell all over the speaker.”
