“I’ve listened to two episodes (Rope, Happiest Season) and I will not be returning for more. It’s a great idea for a podcast, but the discussions are so formless that the two episodes I listened to were just 3 people talking for over an hour without any plot description, games, discussion points, pauses for breaks, etc. This podcast needs an agenda so that each episode follows a similar outline. The hosts seem fine (they’re a little too film school-y rather than film scholar-y) and they seemed to have gotten guests that are better and more-informed than them (which is smart). Also, some of the movies they’ve chosen are not, and were not intended to be, blockbusters so they’re not even adhering to their own premise. Which makes sense, because—again—aimless. Disappointed.”
