Why has one of F1's most controversial figures returned to Alpine?
Listen now
Description
In the run-up to the Spanish Grand Prix, Alpine confirmed it had hired former Benetton and Renault Formula 1 team boss Flavio Briatore as an executive advisor. Briatore ran the Enstone team for two spells under different guises, leading them to several titles along the way, but he exited amid scandal following the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix race-fixing incident. So why is he back now? And what does it mean for Alpine in the long- and short-term? Answering those questions are Edd Straw, Scott Mitchell-Malm and 'Team Enstone' specialist Damien Smith, author of the recent book 'Benetton: Rebels of Formula 1'. Want extra podcast content?
