“I’m definitely down with Dave’s message and what he teaches. But let me be honest... he was first introduced into my life when I was sixteen by my dad who thought this money advice would be helpful, and it would’ve been if I would’ve actually followed it. But, I basically felt like two old guys were telling me how to spend my hard-earned, first-job money and I just wanted to get my nails done and I mean how bad could student loans really be....? Yeah. Learned that lesson unfortunately the hard way. Well fast forward a little over a decade and I’m married with two kids and my husband and I are using the baby steps and really loving the journey and everything we’re learning about ourselves. And while I definitely love Dave’s content, it was Rachel’s book that really got my “heart” on board with the process. The only thing I can think to compare it to would be like if you’re dating a guy and your dad says, “hey, that guy doesn’t seem to be good for you. Here are the reasons why...” and you listen and get it, but you ultimately roll eyes and say “whatever, dad.” But then your best friend tells you “hey that guy isn’t good for you...” and gives you the exact same reasons, but because it’s your best friend you just hear it differently. That’s basically what happened for me when I read Rachel’s book and listened to these episodes 😂
