“I listened to this podcast for a solid decade (from the early years, I started in ‘06), and these guys are so funny, with so much humor rooted in 90s youth group culture, in which I participated and can relate to. However, in the last several years, it became very apparent that all of Relevant Magazine’s references to “god” are not really to actual God (capital G). So many articles and interviews get so excited because a celebrity says a few words about a generic faith, and this is celebrated as if these people are God’s agents reaching into the depraved world of entertainment. Though so many are using the term as they would phrases like “higher power” or “something bigger than myself” (and many actually do use these terms). Relevant has gotten so excited about celebrated these New Age or humanistic beliefs that they have lost sight of what I think Cameron meant to do when he started this. Or many I was fooling myself in believing that.
All this to say, this podcast will likely get you laughing, but don’t refer your non-Christian friends…they will be hearing the wrong gospel. I still listen every once in a while, but I don’t last very long before I cringe at the socially popular but scripturally depraved ideas they celebrate.”
