[17] “You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. [18] You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
You know loving your neighbor was given in the context of going to them to talk about their sins and if you didn’t see the sin you couldn’t falsely accuse your neighbor because that would be hating them in your heart and you were not supposed to keep holding a grudge hence talking to them right away as you see it. I think that is the main problem more people (CT including) hate Mark in their hearts and bare a grudge (which is just paying evil back with evil) so the click bate is just that bating hate. Everything else is just gossip or slander if you weren’t there and it didn’t happen to you personally and if it did like it did to me Jesus tells you to go to your brother not make money and fame from a story about it and not keep holding on to it.
Yeah you can comment all day long about public statements and tweets if you think it’s actually edifying and speaking the truth in love and fits the occasion. But making money off of making a narrative (using music and sound clips and words out of context) with bits and pieces is not as they said “getting the truth out there”. It just more hating your brother in your heart and making money while you do it.
Affirmation does not bring about real healing. Healing that comes from and leads to an eternal joy a deeper joy in God being glorified through you comes from the gospel and people taking responsibility for themselves and pastors taking responsibility (even if they didn’t personally cause he hurt) to shepherd and pursue repentance. Ask yourself when your done, do I feel happier and more joy that God is being magnified by this or so you just get more anger and hurt when your done listening?
This is all hate bate. If you think Mark Driscoll is why we have Donald Trump you have very serious problems. Ellen DeGeneres is accused of the exact same culture and worse (a culture sexual misconduct) and nobody is calling her out or trying to shut her down or would say Ellen paved the way for Donald Trump, or say there is a systematic problem in Hollywood (even though there obviously is on a much larger scale and much deeper hurts). Scientology is far more abusive and harmful and there’s no calling it to end and speaking the truth there. No just more hypocritical click bate.”
