Been running this diet train for 40 years
What a relief it was to find keto and now to find carnivore you are a light in the darkness and I have learned so much more then I knew. I always knew we were ruining our land and now even more why this is happening. I Tried to become a vegan and a vegetarian after I read the book a diet for a new America by Robins And was appalled by how we have missed treated animals. But eating just vegetables especially 30 years ago did not work for me nor does it now. Trying to create new recipes just wasn’t doable for me and it never made sense to eat chicken and fish just because I was a vegetarian so that did not make sense to be called a vegetarian that is ludicrous. After we had talked to a friend who had become a vegan we talked about it for a few days and that’s as far as that idea went. Plus Can I say boring and I don’t believe that eating meat was the problem The problem is eating all those carbs and junk food which I for the most part had given up Especially the gluten products. We even gave up eating potatoes and rice every day and just included it when we went out to the restaurant. Once I learned that you needed grass fed and free roaming animals to get omega-3‘s and less omega 6 and that it is the six is the cause of all the inflammation I started to buy as much as I could afford. Now I just need to figure out what vitamins and minerals I need to supplement with and if I really need things like potassium chloride to make my own electrolytes inulin and magnesium which I’m sure I’ve lacked for decades. Thanks again for the great podcast and I’m sure this is the train I can stay on for the rest of my life.

Listening to Joanne makes me feel so much less alone in my carb addiction. I love that she reminds us that we all have the freedom of choice. We can choose this way of eating and the level at which we follow it based on what feels good for us. Sometimes the strict rules can make a way of eating...Read full review »
