John Norris was an Anglican priest and philosopher who lived from 1657-1711. He was an Oxford Christian "Platonist" and wrote many works including Reflections upon a Late Essay Concerning the Human Understanding which was a critique of John Locke and An Account of Reason and Faith in Relation to the Mysteries of Christianity which was a response to the deist John Toland.
