Stunningly good
Maybe the finest podcast I’ve heard. These are really audiobooks coupled with radio drama. I’m halfway through Shadows (the Val Lewton story) and became a patron 10 minutes into the first episode. He somehow weaves the main story with side issues that seem barely connected (Benedict Arnold?!?), and regularly finds fascinating parts of American history I knew nothing about. From Val Lewton to Hulda the witch to the USA’s first serial killers. An amazing ride everyone should take.

If they’re all as good as the Warner Bros one, I can’t listen to these for free with a clear conscience. I finished that one and rolled onto another typical podcast of guys in a room riffing unfunny nonsense at each other and thought “stuff that, lets have seven hours of Universal Horror”!

What a wonderful and hugely entertaining podcast series this is. I cannot recommend this enough and I look forward to every new episode. If you love classic cinema you will really enjoy this podcast series too. Excellent 5 star entertainment.

The narrators voice is so so annoying. Placing huge emphasis on the end of words and sentences in a phoney actor-y voice. Maybe he's a *fail*-ed act-*or*.Read full review »
