Easy listening, huge mental gains
The Sharp End podcast is seriously bolstering my mental game. It allows me to easily learn from the experiences of fellow climbers while I run, while I cook dinner, while I pack for climbing trips, and while we carpool to trailheads. By listening, I’m learning how to better assess and mitigate risk, and the stories shared by the interviewees often force me to think about the times where I’ve maybe leaned on hope a little too strongly as a tool for risk management. This kind of self-reflection is a lot harder to do when I just read accident reports. Listening somehow makes it more relatable. On top of all the learning, it’s easy listening. You can’t go wrong when you ask someone to talk about their relationship with the mountains, rocks, their gear, and their dedication to their climbing partners and to their own survival. Huge kudos to the host, Ashley, for asking such great questions that always seem to sate my curiosity.

An interesting podcast, I could do without the overly dramatized remarks from the host such as “oh my God” and “noooooo” but that’s just me

Great upbeat alternative to the accidents book from AAC. Lots of interesting and useful information. Great discussions and insight on topics/events covered with guests. I’ve binge listened to all episodes now. More please!
