The Yankees are on the doorstep of winning the AL East. Aaron Judge is stuck on 60 homers with 9 games to go. We can’t trust IKF at short but he’s unfortunately not going anywhere. Harrison Bader is awesome. Hubbs got terrorized by teenagers at Billy’s. Blackjack dealers don’t let you curse? All that and more on today’s show.

Aaron Judge blasted homers number 58 and 59 yesterday in Milwaukee to help the Yankees win a much needed game. They stand 6 games up in the loss column over Tampa and Toronto. Now all eyes need to focus on Judge and whether he can get this done during this week’s homestead. We break down each game, and the potential nightmare on Friday with Apple TV having the call. Also Aaron Hicks talked to the media and complained about his playing time so we promptly lost our minds. We also talk injuries...

It was a good week for the Yankees and we’re feeling slightly more relaxed. The Twins are the Twins and we thank the lord for their creation. Friday was about as bad as a loss as you can have, especially on Jeter Day. Aaron Hicks got pulled mid-game after two awful plays. Fortunately the offense awoke in a huge way on Saturday and Sunday to destroy the Rays pitching. Big week ahead but that weekend was needed.

Aaron Judge is the entire Yankees team right now. Everyone else on offense is worthless, it’s all up to him whether we win or lose. The division lead is tight and we’re holding onto dear life. We talk injuries, Oswald Peraza, IKF, and more. Plus some football talk at the end

The Yankees started the week sweeping their mini Subway Series with the Mets, including beating Max Scherzer on Monday night. They followed that with two wins in Oakland to extend their winning streak to five. That’s when the offense vanished and the Yankees had to settle for an extremely disappointing split in Oakland. Nestor hit in the IL with a groin injury. Chapman got an infection in his leg from a bad tattoo. Greg Weissert had possibly the worst MLB debut ever by a reliever, but bounced...

It wasn’t a good week to be a Yankee fan. They avoided a 4 game sweep at home to the Jays thanks to Paul O’Neill day and a big Andrew Benintendi homer. Other than that things were bleak. Some of the kids got the call and shined. Oswaldo Cabrera is electric and Ron is elite. On the flip side Gleyber Hicks and Donaldson are auto outs aside from JD’s miraculous walk off slam against Tampa. Gerrit Cole and Alek Manoah got into it a little bit after Judge got hit by a pitch Sunday. Aaron Boone...

The Yankees just lost another series, this time in Fenway to conclude a disaster of a disaster of a road trip. The bats have vanished in a way we were terrified of happening back in April. Gleyber Hicks and Donaldson are useless Clay Holmes is broken. The young talent continues to rot away in AAA for no reason at all. We break down the whole week and honestly rip apart what this team has become. You want hope? You didn’t come to the right place.

The Yankees have lost a season high 5 games in a row and in a total funk. Friday they couldn’t close it out. Saturday they couldn’t hit. Sunday they couldn’t pitch. The Yankees were having a great trade deadline and then messed everything up with their bizarre Jordan Montgomery trade to the Cardinals. He ended up throwing 5 scoreless against NY on Saturday. Rizzo missed all weekend with back issues. There’s no update on Giancarlo. Judge is trying to do it all but can’t. Cole got rocked. It’s...

Brian Cashman went to work during the trade deadline. The Yankees have their number 2 pitcher in Frankie Montas, a starting OF in Andrew Benintendi, and two more relievers in Lou Trivino and Scott Effross. We break it all down and more

Mariano Rivera, the greatest relief pitcher in baseball history, joined The Short Porch. We talked about his journey to the big leagues and how the Yankees found him, the evolution of his cutter, the time he almost got traded, and more. It is amazing. Come listen. It was about time the Yankees dream season suffered some legitimate turmoil. Michael King broke his elbow and is out for the year. The Astros swept New York in Thursday’s doubleheader. Not great. Some good has happened though. The Yankees dominated the All Star Game, Aaron Judge is in the middle of another home run binge, and Sydney Sweeney cursed the Red Sox. We discuss potential trades, what to do with Aroldis Chapman, and why Domingo German is a thing. We had out pinstripes and also review...

The Yankees scored 27 runs over the last two games to take their series against the Sox. Matty Mustache is unstoppable and continues to destroy any baseball he comes in contact with. Gerrit Cole finally shoved against the Sox and Jamo even turned in a good start for a change. Aaron Judge tied Maris’ HR pace heading into the break. Aroldis Chapman continue to be an issue. Clay Holmes showed he was human but bounced back later in the week. Juan Soto rejected a $440 million deal from Washington...

We’re back after a little vacation, and the Yankees season is going through a bit of a speed bump. The final two games in Fenway were sloppy and ugly. Bad defense and bad pitching cause the Yanks to split with Boston despite winning the first two. It’s disappointing, but might end up being a good thing. Brian Cashman needs to get to work and improve the holes in this team. The biggest now being starting pitching. Nestor, Jamo, and Cole did not look great this weekend, with Jamo being the...

The Yankees concluded their gauntlet of a 13 game stretch with a miraculous split against the Astros. For a while it looked like they weren’t gonna get a hit every again, but they found a way to win Sunday thanks to Giancarlo, DJ, and Judge. Gerrit Cole put together two fantastic starts this week and may have cemented himself as the best pitcher in this rotation. Joey Gallo is worthless. Do the Yankees need to add a premier SP? We reveal our most hated players on the Rays, Jays, Sox, and...

The Yankees are 49-17. They’ve won 17 of their 21 series this year. Nothing feels real. They just put a beat down on the Rays and Blue Jays this week after being told they only beat the bad teams. It’s all fun, we break it all down and hand out pinstripes

The Yankees continue to dominate baseball teams, this week handling the Twins and Cubs. Wednesday’s game was a Ryan Ruocco special. Barstool at the Ballpark was a blast and the Yankees offense blew out Chicago. Matt Carpenter is actually amazing and needs to play more. The legend of Jose Trevino continues. All this and more, plus we hand out pinstripes.

The Yankees swept both the Angels and Tigers this week as they continue their unbelievable start to the season. Every Yankees starting pitcher is shoving each and every night it’s amazing. Jose Trevino is a legitimate good hitting catcher and needs to be named the starting. Matt Carpenter has been the spark plug this team has needed. Judge is ahead of Mantle and Maris’ 1961 home run pace. Miguel Andujar wants a trade. Derek Jeter joined twitter. How do we know which seed makes what fruit or...

The Yankees went into Tampa short-handed because of injuries and managed to split with the Rays and maintain their comfortable lead in the AL East. The starting pitching continues to be amazing and is carrying the team. Aaron Hicks and Joey Gallo are completely worthless and Cashman has to move on. We break down the last two weeks and hand out pinstripes as well

It was another great weekend for your New York Yankees, taking 3 of 4 in Chicago. Giancarlo and Judge stay red hot while the entire pitching staff keeps on rolling. The only question is where our confidence in Aroldis Chapman is going to be in October. Nestor Cortes Jr. continues to amaze, shutting down the White Sox lineup on Sunday with ease. Can he start the All Star Game at this rate? Maybe Cy Young consideration? It’s time the world recognizes this man. The guys hand out and takeaway...

The Yankees continue to roll, sweeping the Blue Jays in their two-game series and further extending their lead in the AL East race. Aaron Judge is on an absolute tear right now, crushing a walk-off homer on Tuesday and putting himself at the top of the HR leaderboard. Aaron Hicks on the other hand, can go kick rocks because we're SICK of seeing him repeatedly being placed in the leadoff spot and do absolutely nothing. We also discuss the current state of the division, as the Red Sox are a...

Nestor Cortes Jr. is a gift from the baseball gods and he never fails to amaze. Nasty Nestor pitched 7.1 no-hit innings against the Rangers on Monday, further cementing his status as the team's current ace. In other news, Rangers manager, Chris Woodward, is one of the biggest crybaby losers in the league after whining about Gleyber's walk off home run being helped by the Yankees' "little league stadium" (despite the fact that it would've been a home run in 26/30 MLB ballparks). The Yankees...

The Yankees' winning streak finally came to an end Wednesday night, but not before the Yankees secured the series victory against the Blue Jays. We also saw Aaron Boone lose his mind at the umps, very reminiscent of the "f-ing savages" rant. Everything has been clicking for this team, with even guys like Gleyber beginning to hit their strides again. Finally, Tommy gives his take on the young fan who received an Aaron Judge home run ball from a Blue Jays fan who caught it, and how the entire...

The Yankees continued to employ their new strategy of not losing this weekend by sweeping the Royals. Aaron Judge is back to playing like a full blown MVP and it’s awesome. Aaron Boone is a managing like a guy who knows these early games are important. The Yankees are winning in a lot of different ways, but Sunday stood out to Hubbs and Marty. Michael King is actually the best reliever in baseball. Vibes are sky high. We end the show revealing our fourth edition of ‘Earning Your Pinstripes’....
