“Dear Andy and Brendan ,
Not too much happens in this sleepy little fishing village on the Algarve in Portugal. With a population of 300 odd people ( most north of 80 ) there is not much that happens here to set the heart racing . In fact the last time anything newsworthy happened was about 8 years ago when 2 local fishermen had a fight over tangled fishing lines . ( one was taken to the local hospital. Folks still talk about it )
So you can imagine the thrill when I wake from my light sleep in the early predawn hours to a simple vibration on my phone and I see that epic Blue and Yellow logo flash on the screen…….The latest Shotgun Start pod . Time to leave the bed silently not to disturb the wife , and start a coffee and the podcast . With the ocean waves in the background, what a pleasure to laugh in the early hours and start the day with a smile .
You guys give me great pleasure as I laugh my way through your podcast . The self deprecating humor and not taking yourselves too seriously are great attributes that help this old retired South African laugh a little . Your golf podcast is first amongst equals ( I have listened to all of them ) and I wanted to merely take a few moments to appreciate and thank you both for your wonderful knowledge of golf coupled with a good giggle that you provide.
I am also grateful that the golfing gods have provided all of us with a steady stream of phenomenal content since the advent of the LIV tour and the great saga of the PGA v LIV showdowns. Your podcast describing the Brooks Koepke workout session for a clearly underperforming “ Smash “ team had my son and I in fits of laughter .
Anyway , like most golf fans and players I come across here , all we want is too watch the worlds best men and woman compete against each other as often as possible. Nothing else .
Keep up the great work and thanks again for all the laughs.
Doug Jackson ,
Algarve, Portugal.”
