Sicilian
I am the 75 year old grand child of 4 grandparents. I have been to Sicily twice, my Sister Michelle once. Our grandparents., Salvatore, and Luigi were both born in Palma di Montichairo in Agrigento. Our Nana Grazia was born in Vitoria, Ragusa. And our Grandma Angelina, was born in Patti, Messina. If I was younger and not so attached to our family I would Love to live there. When I talk about myself or family I always identify as Sicilian. I feel Sicilian to my soul. In fact I have carried a weapon most of my adult life. I can understand Sicilian and speak some. We were raised with Nana , and our other grandparents who only spoke the language with a few English words intermingled. When there would be a family and friends get together, I could understand all they were talking about. It was an amazing childhood for us. But at the time I don’t think we really knew how special this all was. Thank you, Christina born in The Bronx, as was my Sister Michelle ❤️
