“I came looking for sim racing content, although lord knows why because on reflection a solid hour every week talking about that subject would get very dry, very soon. So the “general tomfoolery” aspect of the show is actually quite a welcome break. I listen in the UK and if I’m being honest I find the shows presented (on alternate weeks) by Ben, Louis and Taylor from Team USA are more cohesive and have a better flow than the UK shows, which often seem more “random” in nature and perhaps suffer from having only two presenters. As is the case with the parent Midweek Motorsport show the sound levels can be all over the place and you can often find that if the main presenter is audible, the other voices are very suppressed. This should be a relatively easy fix. But an even easier one and one that would make the podcast much better immediately is this: get rid of the long silences. Please. At least a dozen times per ‘cast I have to check the connection hasn’t dropped because someone stops talking and all you get is absolute quiet for seconds at a time. I’m not a radio producer but even I know that “dead air” is a cardinal sim on an audio-only platform. I can only guess that when it happens, the presenters are pulling a facial expression that would probably make sense of the silence if the feed were on camera. It’s not, so we - the listeners - are just left hanging. Come on guys, as I believe the saying goes, “tighten it up” and sort out the pacing. This one simple thing would make the show so much better. I already like what you’re saying, I just wish the delivery was smoother.”
