Description
In early February 2022, the Russian Federation deployed around 190,000 troops near the eastern borders of Ukraine. As a result, this alarmed Ukrainian officials and many world leaders around the globe that stated that an invasion of Ukraine would go against International Law. However, President Vladimir Putin justifies the "military operation" of Ukraine by saying that the objective is to integrate the independent region Donetsks and Luhansk into Russia. A statement that has received condemnation from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In today's episode, we discuss the historical implications that have led to the current Ukraine-Russia conflict, Biden's response to the Russian invasion, and the misinformation campaign that has attempted to mitigate the severity of the Ukrainian takeover.
