Practicing Social Worker
This is a great podcast! I needed a reminder of why I should stay in the field. The field can be challenging as we normally have limited resources, the work itself can be challenging/stressful and we also work within broken systems which can be challenging and also exhausting. Also I experienced ‘burn out’ nearly two years ago whilst working as a YW in residential care (in my early 20s m) and had to change to DV, which has worked out for me. So yes, the podcast has been good for me to reflect on practice and to remind me why I do this and why I should continue. So thanks 😊

Part 1, Ep 54 The guests were INSPIRING. Those on-the-ground, who are working for, and never at the detriment of, the rights of individuals & families in an open, empathic and non-judgmental way, is the epitome of valid teaching and learning for us field workers.

As a fourth year social work student working in the homelessness field as the only social worker. I am finding this podcast to be a pivotal point of call to recharge and utilise the shared perspectives in my future practice. Thank you for giving social workers a platform in such an incredible way.
