I’d been eating a somewhat healthy diet for several years, though I’ve cycled through everything from WAPF to raw vegan (not so healthy!) to bodybuilding diets to LCHF to Bulletproof to counting macros. What I had not considered a priority was eating for skin health…until recently.
I found Dr. Cates through an episode she did on Bulletproof Radio (another one of my favorite podcasts), and I immediately resonated with her approach to holistic skincare. Dr. Cates takes a radically different approach than the average esthetician because she shows you how to care for your skin from the inside out, how to incorporate the latest cutting-edge treatments into your routine, when it’s a good idea to DIY and how to “put it all together” into a personalized skincare routine. (And, you’ve GOT to try her new skincare line!!!)
I recently visited an esthetician after listening to The Spa Dr. episode about getting regular facials with the changing of the seasons, and I was SO glad I did. I picked the brain of the esthetician, but all she could do was rave about how radiant, soft my skin was…she wanted to know WHAT I WAS DOING. She gave me some tips about how to address “the only skin issues I had” which were dryness and a bit of sun damage (from my prior sunbathing/tanning bed habit.)
Thanks to following advice from Dr. Cates (and her amazing guests), I’m well on my way to aging gracefully and keeping my skin in tip-top shape.”
