“Why do I feel like this podcast is the summer project of a bunch of bored college guys? Probably because it should be way better than it is.
Let’s start with the writing. Spoiler alert: “joke” punchline ahead. The scene where the host takes a skydive, and then makes the “pun” (is t even a pun?) about then “jumping” into the interview with his skydiving instructor is an insult to the intelligence of the listener. Oh come on. Do better. Try harder. Or perhaps hire a content editor.
Production values also need work. The interviews are louder and more present sounding than the host, and this guy needs help anyway. He’s not the best talent voice, but it would be better if his sound quality held up against the rest of the mix, which is uneven in too many ways to list here.
Perhaps future episodes will be better. This has the elements of a gripping story, so I won’t give up just yet.”
