“I was surprised to see a podcast that promised to expose the subtle continuity of cause and effect that hallmarks the changing face of resistance in the period after the first Gulf invasion to the present day. I agree totally that history is a series of threads. How disappointing for it to so quickly descend into a ill informed, over simplification. The distorted, throw away equating of the Al Qaeda leadership and origins with the perverse and repulsive death-cult of ISIS indicates that this podcast is aimed at those who actually do not want to understand this complex evolution, with all the actors and influences examined. Forget this Podcast. Get yourself a copy of ‘Ghost Wars’ by Steve Coll and look at the source of this many headed hydra, get some real information and come to you own conclusions about how and why.”
