Horribly Misinformed and dangerous
Fundamentalists are so terrified that science, truth, and reason will make the absurd claims they cling to “extinct” that they mount misinformation campaigns to try and combat the fact that people are educating themselves. These people want to keep you dumb and compliant and are absolutely frightened to death of the idea of people bettering themselves and learning because any thinking person will surely see through their ruse. While standing on a soapbox and claiming moral superiority they are actually carrying out an insidious attack on the growth and future of the human race. Whether they realize it or not, their stubborn insistence on reliance on several thousand year old texts full of (interesting and useful, but ultimately very likely completely fictional) metaphorical stories as a basis for living in a world several millennia later is not only backward, but holding back humanity in its quest for knowledge and truth. Truth is, some young impressionable mind, who with the right encouragement and resources could grow to be a world renowned scientist and has the ability to change the world for the better...will be fed this nonsense and be discouraged from the truth through inundation from a maybe well meaning, but ultimately harmful/borderline abusive figure they respect. This kind of perversion of knowledge and history robs children of their possible futures and deprives the world of great minds and what we could achieve as a human race. Disgusting.
