“This podcast fills a hole in my podcast life that I’ve been searching to fill ever since Firewall & Iceberg went off the air all those years ago. Sure, some of that is because I’m delighted to have Dan back in my weekly roundup of media podcasts. However, why it’s really such a must listen is that it does an incredibly thorough job of giving listeners an inside rundown of everything they need to know about the TV industry and this week’s shows you should give a shot...or avoid.
The show runner spotlight (a feature Dan’s old pod lacked) is also a great addition. Dan and Lesley are excellent interviewers. The way they rope-a-doped the Hallmark exec was masterful, and for non-problematic talent they genuinely help their guests expose what part of the process of making TV they are most passionate about, which is always different and always fascinating.
I would be lost without this pod. If THR could only have a single podcast left, I would demand TV Top 5 was the last pod standing. I hope it sticks around for years to come!”
