Decoy is a Baton Rouge-based heavy metal band that formed in 2017. The band plays shows across the region and attempts to write music about personal experiences that resonate with listeners. Singer Jonah Smith and drummer Lucien Champton became friends in high school and worked on several different projects before teaming up to start Decoy. On this episode of The Up & In Show, they sit down with Anthony Ranaudo to discuss their musical backgrounds, style and ambitions. Lucien and Jonah dive into what inspires their original music, as well as the process of creating a song. They also touch on their upcoming show on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Set It Off Festival in Baton Rouge. While the show is sold out, 50 tickets will be available at the door.
