Super insightful for both laymen and professionals; fantastic guests
For laymen listeners - This podcast truly lives up to its goal of "increasing transparency in finance". Touching on an array of topics such as financial jargon, mergers & acquisitions, alternative investments, and Wall Street culture, The Vampire Squid gives non-finance individuals a refreshingly honest (and even optimistic) insight into the world of high finance. For students – With Alan and his guests providing anecdotes relating to valuation, behaviorals, and workplace etiquette, I recommend this podcast to aspiring finance professionals that seek a friendly and qualitative alternative to their usual technical and interview prep. For finance professionals – Although much of the podcast’s earlier episodes focus on subjects pertaining to recruiting, even experienced finance professionals can gain insight from the various non-IB/PE guests that appear on the show. Alan and his guests bring varied insight into areas such as entrepreneurship, finance for startups, and diversity in finance.
