“First, I want to say that Chris is a great host! I myself am combat veteran with a similar past as Chris. I also suffer from UC, just like Chris. I also truly appreciate everything he’s trying to do with the podcast for the Veteran community to empower them to be better and stronger. The only issue I have is that a few of the guests have spouted off false information because they didn’t think anyone would notice, maybe, or they have an agenda. Just one small example of this would be when one of the guests said that the VA does not provide CBT, talk therapy, general therapy, or prescribe any medication for psychological/ psychiatric disorders and just rates them (often wrong or over rates them, which may be true) and then pushes them on the street. They actually saved my life with a combination of resources and now I have a doctorate degree and am a practicing healthcare provider with a wonderful family and my life together. This could be dangerous to the veteran community and cause them to lose more hope. We need to push together and provide all the facts, not just the ones that sell our prospective books. Veterans should be able to look where ever they want for help, and be provided a variety of resources. That is truly the best way we can pull ourselves up and live our best lives and excel in the prospective areas we choose to live. I do agree, however, that we need to get our generation of Veterans to lift ourselves up and form a sort of Renaissance, so to speak; but we need to do it with the truth.”
