“Karen and Derek have great taste in movies. I enjoy listening to them discuss some of the lesser-known, and/or more obscure movie releases that come out. That being said, two things have really been bothering me about this podcast lately…Derek almost always sounds dismissive of Karen’s opinions on films, good or bad. It may not be intentional, but it often comes off like he’s minimizing her thoughts on a movie. I don’t know…it’s just been rubbing me the wrong way. Also, I’m definitely not an audiophile by any means, but if you guys created a fundraiser to get Derek a better microphone, I would gladly pitch in. It sounds like he’s recording his audio through an old telephone, which just shouldn’t happen in 2024. It’s only really noticeable because Karen’s microphone sounds so much better. I didn’t intend this to be such a Derek-centric review (love you guys, I really do), but those 2 aspects alone have been making it hard for me to listen to the podcast lately.”
