Beautiful
What a gift to the world ! So much wisdom and insight here. I have practiced Buddhism since the 1980s- sometimes I am completely on it, other times Ive found myself drifting a little. However, for the main I have lived my life with both eyes (and the other 5 senses) firmly focused on the practice. Meditation, the sutras, online lectures and discussions, and now podcasts. How I wish these podcasts were a thing back when I began the journey. I believe a podcast lives or passes on its hosts. We are blessed here with two very wise men : one, a westerner who has embraced the philosophy of the Buddha; the other a delightful, erudite monk who aided His Holiness Thich Nhat Hanh for many years before his sad passing in 2022. Together they have a foundation of knowledge that they have generously decided to share. In these upsetting times where the world seems to be constantly pulling itself to pieces, it is a pleasure to listen and to put into practice the ideas that are discussed in these episodes. Helped by the occasional delightful guest, their discussions range from meditation practices through to some of the deeper, more esoteric aspects of this great religion and philosophy. If you are new to Zen and wish to progress at a steady pace I can’t recommend this podcast enough. Used it tandem with the Plum Village APP (full of guided meditations and other useful functions) this could be all you need to get going with your podcast. His Holiness has also written some incredible books which I also recommend investigating. So, yes, whether you are a seasoned Zen practitioner or someone dipping their toe into the Buddhist ocean, get yourself signed up to this and the APP. Take your time. Listen. And listen some more. Namaste
