“Despite having been a spiritual person who likes to think about life, death, human interactions, meditation, energies, universe… (in fact, I am sort of obsessed), I was feeling unusually “stuck.” My tolerance for stressful events in my life was all time low and no matter what I tried, I couldn’t stop my feelings. Then I randomly found this podcast after reading You Are Here. Aside from a couple of class trips to the temples while growing up in Korea, I had no exposure to Buddhism or Buddhist philosophy. And I was still very skeptical when I listened to one episode. I went back my life, feeling stuck. While I was driving home one day, lamenting about this feeling, feeling stuck and uninspired, I heard “the way out is in” in my head and took the words quite literally: to get out of this rut and being so sensitive to external elements in my life, I had to look inside and reevaluate what I was doing (or not doing) to let them control me. Since then I’ve listened to every single episode, and have read several books by Thich Nhat Hanh. It inspired me to visit Deer Park Monastery for a Day of Mindfulness. Thank you for creating this podcast, and for such thoughtful, inspiring stories and interviews. I am now a huge fan and this podcast, along with the books and meditations, has become a part of my journey.”
