“I got the podcast recommended to me through a Youtube sponsorship, and decided to give it a shot. I’m extremely thankful I did and got as many of my friends hooked as I could.
I just finished the first season and all I can say is that I still feel the arctic chill in my room despite being dressed in wool and flannel with a blanket on my lap. It’s tense, it’s incredibly immersive not in the least thanks to the talent of the voice actors and soundscape, and the plot is brilliantly executed and intense.
The plot has elements of familiar horror tales that any buff will recognize, but beautifully fresh and reimagined through a lens of indigenous culture and scientific knowledge, rather than an ignorance of it. The fear of the unknown is brilliantly juxtaposed with glimpses of folk knowledge that only enhance the experience, as well a an expert tugging of the survival instincts every person possesses to emphasizes how *wrong* everything feels. You feel trapped, stalked, left if the dark, and shivering with fear while your brain tries to reject learning more at the same time as you *need* to know more.
10/10, it’s horrifying and I need to listen to a calming podcast or music list if I listen to it after sunset or I can’t sleep, I fully recommend it!”
