Students will fund the bill for non football sports
Big12 member located in Texas. I think you’re not realizing how the non football sports will survive. They’ll survive by the universities bringing in more revenue. How do they bring in more revenue? Donors is a part but the largest compensation will stem from tuition earned from non athletes. Ultimately the generic student and their parents will be paying more for college and/or borrowing more. Athletes are not realizing that after the scholarships are paid for all sports, stadium upgrades, departmental salaries, and various other athlete expenses who foots the bill if the AD doesn’t break even. There is a big difference between revenue and net income, we know the TV contracts and various other sales but nobody knows an athletic department’s net income
