This week on The Wire Talks our host Sidharth Bhatia talks to writer, columnist, public speaker and educator, Aparna Piramal Raje. The former chats with her about her book, Chemical Khichdi- How I Hacked My Mental Health, where she spilled the beans about suffering from bipolar disorder. When asked why did she write the book and didn't she feel inhibited to let it out in the open she replied, "I wrote because we all want to tell our stories." She adds in today's time opening about your not-so-pleasant parts of our lives is called owning your truth.  She shares when she was suffering from bipolar disorders she was not in control of herself, experiencing some sharp highs and lows in her emotions. During the conversation, she takes us through her very first incident, followed by how she struggled and coped with it. Sharing about her uncharacteristic behaviour which left many mystified, she shared experiencing decrease in her sleep, being energetic, several thoughts about saving the world rushing her mind, eventually making life for the people around her difficult. She advocates in such phases family's support is of utmost importance.
