  10 Science-Based Benefits of Meditation ~ Love Your Practice Even More The WISDOM podcast  Season 4  Episode 28   ~ Why do you meditate?  To know this – becomes the inspiration for why you practice each day and why meditation becomes a mainstay for life. ~ 💜   ~ The First in a Series of Eight on the Practice of Meditation ~     Meditation is the habitual process of training your mind to focus on a single point or object ~ to redirect or release thoughts and to gain presence in now. Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. Meditation originally was meant to help deepen understanding of the sacred and mystical forces of life.   Meditation is a mind-body complementary medicine as it can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind. It can also bring insight and perspective helping us approach situations from a higher ground and one that is far more open and accepting.   The teachings of Meditation include techniques to enhance attention, emotional awareness, kindness, compassion, mental calmness in difficult situations and sympathetic joy or Mudita ~ A Sanskrit word that translates as (sympathetic joy) the pleasure that exists in feeling genuinely happy for the happiness and well-being of others ~ and without without it meaning that you somehow have less happiness. Some people find that regular meditation practice helps them be kind to themselves and more caring to others. It can also teach you to be less reactive when difficult situations arise.   As we journey together for this 8 part series on Meditation and MORE MEDITATION I’d like to also encourage to join in on a 30day challenge.
