This Podcast is Dangerous
While I understand the merit of hearing firsthand stories of gender care experiences, this podcast uses purely anecdotal evidence in an attempt to persuade listeners that gender affirming care is wrong. PEC states on their website “No child is born in the wrong body”, a message that could cause parents to deny their children access to appropriate care. What is not anecdotal evidence are the statistics showing over 40% of transgender children commit or attempt suicide, and the medical studies that have determined there are no serious long term effects from taking hormone blockers and then stopping if that was not the right decision. The American Academy of Pediatrics, an organization of 67,000 pediatricians, stands by gender affirming care as potentially lifesaving treatment for children. Listen to them, not this podcast.

These stories are heartbreaking. I suspected that these treatments were dangerous but I had no idea how this all was affecting families. My heart goes out to these people. This shouldn’t be happening to ANYONE. We all need to pay attention to what’s happening. I highly recommend this podcast.
