“I love listening to these guys. I first became aware of Dr. Reeves through Youtube when I came across some of his videos on early church history (I do wish he was still making those, I ran out a while ago), and in the process of checking his background and historical experience (an aspect of historical study which I think is often undervalued) I somehow learned that he co-hosted a podcast.
I think that one of the best parts of the podcast is the semi-serious banter. Although the editing quality seems really good as with the cold opening to each episode, there is definitely a sense of the show being very casual. This show is really two guys talking to each other, and I love it. When I listen, I feel as if I’m sitting and talking with my own friends and am often disappointed when I realise that I can’t offer my input.
All in all, I have enjoyed this podcast for a while and I really wish that episodes were still being released regularly. Season 2 ended unexpectedly with a lengthy hiatus, and though I still try to maintain hope it has now been almost 3 months since the second episode of season 3 went up. Either way, I am excited about the books Ryan has been working on and I hope to find time to get them and read them. I hope you guys come back soon!”
