Please get someone else to narrate! I love this kind of podcast and you cover really interesting cases but I just cannot listen because of the bizarre, creepy narration style.

WHAT is the narrator doing. So hard to listen to

Benjamin is an amazing presenter and the cases are always interesting. I love that your podcast includes numerous pics. A very consistent, classy, interesting, and professionally done podcast!

I love this podcast! His slow and smooth narration style helps me to chill out and and get things done! Some really interesting cases❤️

This is a great podcast. Writing and delivery is perfect and holds your interest. Too bad it’s going to cost us to get the podcast. Understandable that all need to make a living, but it used to be really great to listen to without all the hype of payment. Really too bad.

I really enjoy the laid back, laconic style. Always brilliantly produced, no extraneous rubbish. Just the facts. 5 star. Bravo

Really wanted to listen to this but couldn’t concentrate on the voice because of the presenters slow drawl.
mumandproud via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/21/23
What on earth is with the awful narration? Even sped up it sounds bizarrely slow and the intonation is completely weird, as if it’s a speech computer programme instead of human: Unlistenable.
Radionoush via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/19/23
I couldn’t last longer than 3 minutes. The story’s I’m sure are great, but the narrators voice is unbearable.

I liked it but had to speed up the audio and the voice was far to slow

Subject matter and stories told could be interesting but……that ridiculous slow- voiced and drawn out presentation is completely annoying. Can’t listen anymore…..

This podcast is well done. Wonderful writing. Respectful, too. The narrator’s skilled delivery gives emphasis to the depth of the story. The pace of his delivery is perfect and his voice is well suited. Thank you to all involved!

While I am sure the content is interesting I couldn’t listen to more than 3 minutes of the narrators weird intonation.

So sloppy. You’re telling me Benjamin researches and still uses the wrong words to describe the way someone took their own life. This and so much more sloppiness is making this so frustrating to listen to. Don’t even get me started on how he pronounces agoraphobia! For those put off by the slow...Read full review »

By far my favourite pod. Love the content and narration. Huge well done & thank you

The stories are good but the narration is terrible, like a GCSE media project. So slow, so emotionless. Hard to listen to.

This chap needs to learn when and when not to use the word “quote”

Had to switch off after 2 minutes - awful AI robotic narration. It’s ashame because I’m sure the content would have been good with a hardworking team behind it.
Topdanuk via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/21/23
The host sounds like he’s doing a parody of a true crime podcast…. Absolutely can’t listen to this!
Jenn oxide via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 04/19/23
I’ve enjoyed this podcast from the beginning but please stop slowing it down, no one talks this slow. It just needs to be your natural voice

Had to switch off after 2 minutes. Couldn’t bear the narrator’s voice. Almost robotic?!
Emma-Skye via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/05/23
I have been a listener right from the beginning & really enjoy it but I’m pretty sure it’s been sped up slightly over the last few months. Previously in reviews, I have noticed some people complaining about the narrators voice, saying it’s too slow and boring, not something I particularly...Read full review »

Surely this voice can’t be from a human - parts even sound sarcastic/ comedic Could be committed to listening regularly but the can’t sit through that

I’m late to this podcast but the narration is paced and balanced and ideal without any bells and drum rolls ,it is even and calm almost clinical yet addictive . Good stuff ,the one offs and “ so where are we now “ makes this superior listening .My go to podcast when alone or travelling.

Love the content but the voice is weird monotone. Almost sounds like AI narrator- maybe it is??

This podcast has so much potential and it’s interesting to hear the details of crimes that have been headlines on the news, but .......... it’s often a struggle to listen to. The narrator has a dull voice which, from previous reviews, has clearly put a lot of people off listening. I don’t mind...Read full review »

Narrator sounds like a robot, a bit like Siri. And there is a lot of repetition in the storytelling.
Anniee00 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/07/23
Narrator is boring, there is so much advert content considering the length of the episode, the change of volume from ads to content is bad, still looking for a good UK crime podcast
Mailys999 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/02/23
One of my favorite podcasts! Not only do I love the hosts voice, but I love his rhythmic speech, and it’s just so loving and soothing. I hang onto every word of his stories. Keep up the fantastic work!

My fave podcast, love the narration. Look forward to it every week, prefer the one off episodes than multi part ones

I love this Pcast, nicely narrated…Benji speaks clear and calm, he’s very understandable considering his accent…I wouldn’t mind using him to narrate my life lol….he uses actual footage recordings so that tells me that he does his research, some stories are random and some are popular, all are...Read full review »

Consistently excellent storytelling and polished production. Appreciate the attention to detail and backstories of victims and perpetrators. Without opinions or commentary- creates clear, meaningful and memorable stories. Thank you!
DMcKelvy via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/13/23
Not sure where all the mucky muck interviews come from but the episodes would go down a lot easier if much of it was eliminated. The stuff I’m referring to are the victim impact statements, and the post-hearing comments by the murderer’s family members. Why? Because it’s always the same, it’s...Read full review »

I just listened to episode 33, having newly subscribed. It takes a few key elements to make a great podcast, and the narrator should be compelling and easy to listen to. This narrator is dreadful. His voice is emotionless, dull, slow, and reminiscent of Hubert Cumberdale from Salad Fingers. If...Read full review »

This is the best true crime podcast out there, narrators voice blends perfectly with the storylines in my opinion.

Dreadful affectation which had only gotten worse over the years. I’ve tried, I really have.

Love the host, although the face doesn't match lol. Stories are new so far from same old cycled through, and love the single host scripted format, is my favorite. No opening chit-chat is awesome. The older cases are my favorite.Read full review »

As said in the title the narrators voice is so boring to listen to that it ruins the story. Unbelievable how he got the job! Just terrible.

Completely disagree with the review that said 100-some-odd year old cases aren’t interesting. Crimes in different eras are intriguing in how they reflect the different times and tend to be wrapped in a bit more mystique as well due to there simply not being as much information available usually....Read full review »

True crime needs to be relatively current to be interesting. The more recent the crime, the more compelling the narrative. 100 year old crime cases are simply not interesting.
piclklypoo via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/28/22
If you can’t decide whether to listen to a true crime podcast or white noise this one’s for you. It makes interesting cases about as tedious as a root canal. I’d rather be entertained by my own existential dread.
Jess and Pickles via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 12/25/22
Some people shouldn’t be handed a mircrophone - this guy is no exception. Terrible narrative control, couldn’t listen to him. I honestly thought it was a joke. As someone who works as a voiceover it’s embarrassing to hear people like this given a platform.
DarrenChobber via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/17/22
This could be great, but the fact the host says every. single. sentence with the same intonation - like he’s doing a trailer to a murder mystery b movie! - does my head in and ruins the pod.
