Great podcast with interesting UK True Crime cases. I like the narration - if you prefer faster more paced commentary find another podcast. If you’re a fan of well written, thoroughly researched material and cases then look no further. Best UK True Crime podcasts in my Opinion. Don’t @ me ✌🏽

4m 44secs , adverts, news, recommendations, still no podcast , can’t be bothered to wait any longer.

I love this podcast! No unnecessary chit chat, just the story with the bonus of “Where are we now” follow-up. Unique, informative and factual…NICE!

Great narration and writing. Some dopes think there are too many details? Maybe stick to “true crime” giggling hosts . I like long format true crime but you need an attention span .

The narrator is talking in the most affected voice it is just unbearable. Shame as I was excited to listen.

Interesting stories but torturous to sit through the droning voice. No sensationalising needed but a little bit of personality wouldn’t go amis.

Whoever hired the narrator needs sacking, God awful voice
annaisabella80 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/12/22
Well researched and interesting cases. I don’t speed up the sound - I like the relaxing tone of voice. Would feel too ‘sensationalised’ if he was overly emotive/ demonstrative. This way, he gives the facts and lets you decide what or how you feel about it. Don’t change a winning formula!

your new produce’s dream to become more gross, to reach the of dregs of humanity. I I can no longer listen.

It sounds like the script has been put through an automated voice app. Good information but really difficult to listen to, even at 1 1/4 speed
jwnevets via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/02/22
The voiceover on this podcast is the second worst I’ve ever heard. Slow, monotonous, and slower and more monotonous. It’s awful. The narrator appears determined to make monotony popular. An epic, epic fail.

One of my favourite true crime podcasts. Contrary to some other reviews, I quite like the narration. It gives you time to actually absorb the information and feel the weight and emotions of each story. I also love the music at the start/end of each episode, adds a nice dramatic effect touch.

and definitely listen on x1.5 speed otherwise it’s way too slow and highlights the narrator’s odd intonation!

This show is so overly produced - loads of sound effects etc. but the voice and delivery take the cake, I can’t listen anymore

No opinions, no jokes, just facts and interesting cases. However the host’s speech is so slow I listen on 1.5x speed to make it a normal speed!

Would like to listen to this podcast as it seems very interesting but can’t bare to listen to the narrator.

First time listening, started at Season 6 episode 1-5. I don’t know how I never heard of them before but this was really well done. Very respectful and no speculations, just facts. Host does talk incredibly slow so I did have to bump it up to 1 1/4x speed and it was perfect. I do wish the...Read full review »

I've been listening for at least 5 years now on a different podcast app, but wanted to show my love in the reviews! The content is always so thoroughly researched, which I always find harder in the UK due to reporting restrictions. Loved the book too - similar to the cases covered in the...Read full review »

Thanks for this fabulous podcast. Brilliantly researched and told. Very dark and sad cases that are told honestly and with compassion. I salute you.

The stories are well written but the auto generated narration is so off-putting I found it impossible to listen to. Every time tell tail signs are heard you just cringe.

Listened to Series 2 / Ep 1, while it was potentially an interesting case, I found the narrator really hard to listen to as his style is really flat and monotone. It’s not that you want a sensational or upbeat style for such a sensitive subject, but I found the delivery too off putting. I’ve...Read full review »

Listened to 2 episodes so far. I say 2 but I mean 1 because the second was like white noise as the presenters voice is so monotone that it’s almost sent me to sleep! A shame because the cases are interesting but he might as well be reading the phone book.
jpleopard via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/09/22
Like many reviews, there’s a slow go to this. Cadence is very measured, and pauses are unusually long. My solution? Listen at 1 1/14 speed! Rated 3 because: unless you have any (and I mean ANY) actual proof to the claim, can we please not inject “it’s because the cops/neighbors/clergymen were...Read full review »

the host has a very odd delivery, i wonder if he speaks to his wife using this voice? also, in the most recent episode, he insists on pronouncing the name "Daniel" as "Danielle," which might seem picky, but he does it all the time and it really got on my nerves because it's a...Read full review »

The cases are unique and interesting, I suppose that’s the reason I can bare through the strange narration. It is a bit tough to get through some episodes, I wonder how this guy got the part. It would be wonderful to try different people, I know I’m not the only listener with this issue!
Carbs&Coffee via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/27/22
Really like this podcast and the content and I like the narrators voice. It fits the content and goes at a good pace. I think it’s probably one of the best narrating voices for true crime and I listen to a lot.

I keep coming back to this podcast because of steady flow of well researched cases delivered with excellent pace, timing and tone. The narrative always comes to a satisfying close where you’re not left wondering, instead you have an understanding of the gravity of these crimes and their context...Read full review »

I found this podcast to be fact based, with no bits added for titillation or shock factor, I found the presenters voice a bit flat at first, but soon got used to it and now find the presenters voice clear and enjoyable, overall a very well researched and entertaining podcast

Some very good cases and well researched but the guy’s voice is so monotonous I lose concentration! Sometimes I’ve had to speed the playback to 1.25 or 1.5.

Absolutely love this podcast. Mysterious, not glorifying crime in anyway but simply telling the story articulately and clearly. Not for the faint of heart though. Also cannot seem to find season 1. Great work by Benjamin and the team.

Some good ideas there to knock off the wife and a few other annoying people. Thanks for that. Cheers

I wanted to love this podcast but found the narrator incredibly off putting. He manages to sound like a too slow, over dramatic digitally-produced voice. Not for me.

Well-written, but this guy has a really bizarre inflection. He sounds like a text-to-speech computer. Once you get past that, there’s a good podcast.

This kind of podcast has really taken off recently, with this being the best so far. One of the other podcasts I am listening too doesn’t give you recordings of interviews like this one, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Also his voice, which is a very rare wonder among podcasts of the sort. Hopefully...Read full review »
