#hulk #brucebanner #herosjourney #mcu #anglee #superhero It's about time that I spend some time talking about some other Superheroes and I'll start with the MCU version of Bruce Banner/Hulk. And, yes, I KNOW that Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk is not canon, but for the purpose of stringing out a back story and examining a multi-arc character development AND to allow you to see yourself in the journey, I am still using this great movie as my starting point. Yes, great movie. There, I said it. When you...

Be your own Hero! Be your own Guru! Change your Self. Change your world. We are getting closer and closer to the end of this series, my Dear Heroes. I'm excited about the things that are coming next, but first we must finish this current journey and take some time to rest and reflect. On a sidenote, I'm now using a fully Linux-based system for all of my writing and production...actually, I've converted almost every system in my house to Linux. Breaking free of the Windows strangle-hold! I...

We are getting closer and closer to the end(?) of our journey. However, it's very necessary to integrate all the lessons we've learned in the depths of the soul into everyday living. This is when we really need something to ground us.

Did you really think I would allow 2019 to end without getting at least one more step of the Journey uploaded? Well, I admit I haven't been terribly consistent, so maybe you did think that. Please believe me, my Dear Heroes: I will not abandon this quest, no matter how long it takes to find our way to the end. Be your own Hero! Be your own Guru! Change your Self. Change your world. In this final installment of our Kung Fu Panda series, Mark talks about the Return stage of the Hero's Journey, how we can learn from Po how to become enlightened, and why you shouldn't be a cult leader.

Before we dive into Kung Fu Panda 3, we have to examine the Return stage of the Hero's Journey and what could happen if you don't complete the journey. Website: http://thinkspiritual.ca/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thinkSpiritual/

Thank you, thank you, thank you! To all of the 100 subscribers (and many more from other places on the internet) that have helped to grow the Movies and Mythology/Think Spiritual YouTube channel! And I have realized that it's far past the time that I start telling you all how to become your own guru. Website: http://thinkspiritual.ca/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thinkSpiritual/

https://www.buymeacoffee.com/hWgC2wsSX There are many times in our life where we have choices to make and every one of those choices will lead us to different conclusions about how our life has turned out and why it turned out that way. In Kung Fu Panda 2, Po faces a few of these decisions and it is up to him as to whether he will remain the Hero or take the path of the Villain (or, shall we say, the Victim?). We all have the capability of being Hero or Villain. We all of the...

The Deeper Meaning of Kung Fu Panda (Part 1 of 3) https://www.buymeacoffee.com/hWgC2wsSX Perhaps it's silly that I'm 45 years old and I love animated movies. Perhaps not. I find that much of the story-telling in animated films tends to be better than many "adult" movies (no, not THAT kind of "adult movie"). I think the writers simply aren't trying as hard to tell something different and are just focused on telling the best story they can muster that also houses some fundamental truth or...

I think it's one of my favourite experiences to have a movie surprise me with its depth and meaning when I really don't expect it. I expected an anime adaptation or poor comicbook movie from Sucker Punch and what I ended up getting was, very possibly, the most profound movie I've ever seen.

In this episode of Think Spiritual Podcasts (presented by Movies and Mythology), we look at achieving goals and the prize attained at the end of your endeavors. Quite often those prizes (boons) are not what you expected them to be.

Season 3 of Think Spiritual Podcasts begins this month! Here is a short overview of what kind of content you can expect to see here on the Movies and Mythology YouTube channel. This is also kind of a new channel introduction video as my previous one was a little over-written/over-produced.

Well, here we are once again! Bernardo and Gonzo are back in the Think Spiritual studio and this time we’re watching and analyzing Ladyhawke. Honestly, this movie didn’t give us a whole lot in terms of Swordporn action and adventure. There definitely was some deeper meaning to it, but what it mostly opened us up to was discussing the psychological and mythological archetype of the Thief. And leave it to Bernardo, as always, to keep us on topic!

It's Hero's Journey time once again and we're past the half-way point! Apotheosis is my favourite step in the Hero’s Journey. And why is that? Because this is freedom time. At this time comes huge shifts in your ways of thinking and being and all the burdens you’ve been carrying are suddenly of no consequence. You can move forward unhindered and without worry of what you’re leaving behind.

I ended up in a movie theatre on Sunday evening to watch the 3-hour finale to the Avengers saga and I have to say that I was surprised at the depth that I found within it. There were some fantastic moments and important lessons. At 2am, I was putting typing the last paragraph of this script. This is not a super in-depth examination of Endgame, only an overview of some deeper concepts that I will explore on future episodes of Think Spiritual Podcasts. This hastily cobbled together...

I found out about Andy Grant a couple of months ago when he did an episode of his podcast Real Men Feel on the Hero's Journey. I became fascinated with the title of his podcast as I believe that men accessing and dealing with their deep emotions is the true meaning of the Hero's Journey. So, I contacted Andy and asked him to be on this podcast and he was kind enough to grant me some of his time online. Welcome to Andy Grant's personal spiritual journey.

Welcome my Dear Heroes! Today is half-way day! This is the half-way point of the Hero's Journey! This is the half-way point of the series! This is the abyss! This is the time when you face what holds the most power over you. I am excited today, Dear Listeners! While Step 10 is my favourite favourite part of the Hero's Journey, Step 9 - Atonement with the Father - is my favourite stage because this step is the entire point of the journey. This is the part where you face the very thing that...

Today on Think Spiritual Podcasts I am out to prove that Nancy Adams (Blake Lively) is a more complete Hero than Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). Honestly, I expected that The Shallows was going to be a terrible movie and, thankfully, I turned out to be wrong.

The subject of archetypes has been something that I've been wanting to delve into for a while. I did an interview with Beth Martens that was an introduction to the subject, but I think it's about time that I began to discuss them in more detail. The "Hero" is the most common archetype I talk about on Think Spiritual Podcasts, but all Heroes must eventually mature and the most common path is towards Ruler/King/Queen. So, let's start at the end as I introduce you to the archetype that is the...

Andrew Jasko is a former Pentecostal Christian minister who transitioned out of organized religion to the wide, wide world of Spirituality. It is perhaps easier for him to say what Spirituality isn't than what it is (and the same would be true for most people). Andrew aids others through personal coaching, public speaking, and through his website https://lifeafterdogma.org/to heal from the trauma(s) of leaving a system of rigid beliefs and move into a place of spiritual peace. TECHNICAL...

I'm making some moderate changes to how I title new episodes of Think Spiritual, so Examining the Spiritual Elements of will now become The Deeper Meaning of. I think this makes much more sense, is easier to say and perhaps it will draw more interest to my content. Always have to try new things! In this most recent episode, I want to tackle a very, very new movie - the Netflix film Io: Last on Earth (which I just call Io). I think this was a fantastic story with a great Hero's Journey,...

Bernardo and Gonzo wanted to leave the 80s for a short time and show me the amazing, Russian-produced film Mongol from 2007. Based as closely as possible (within 2 hours) on The Secret Life of the Mongols, this movie portrays Temudjin's (Genghis Khan) early life before his rise to power. The ensuing conversation winds through topics of the Hero's Journey, archetypes, Heavy Metal music, H.P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard, and growing into manhood.

This episode of Think Spiritual was such a struggle to produce, that it became a Hero's Journey of it's very own! It just never seemed to turn out right. Something was always off and I even had to ask myself if it was "supposed to be" produced at all. There was genuine Temptation to quit! However, the struggle and the Temptation just made the end result that much sweeter. Always persist!

I made contact with business coach, archetype reader and creator of the MerPreneur’s Journey, Beth Martens - a fellow journey-er who had quite the story to tell and she was more than happy to share some of her experience with archetypes with me on the podcast. This episode of Think Spiritual Podcasts is a dive into the vast and complex subject of archetypes and how they are constantly at work in our lives. I hope that it is only the first of many discussions we will bring you on this...
