“Gripping show but I feel like “kvinden med den tunge kuffert” is ripe for feminist critique. What’s up with the obsession over the size of Maria’s hands and the breadth of her shoulders? On what grounds were her kids taken from her? Who was the father of the kids? Did she report rapes that were dismissed prior to her presumed “fake rape” charges? Being falsely accused of rape is the worst thing the host can imagine in the world. Being raped and not believed is probably worse, but let’s center the male perspective at all costs.
“Kvinden med den tunge kuffert” is a show by men about the maddening experience of being a woman that literally drives some women over the edge of sanity and obedience in polite society. The men making the show don’t know that’s what they are reporting on.”
