“I really like the idea of “this day in history,” but instead of a discussion of history, all you get is the hosts trying to signal how progressive they are. I lean left too but it’s irritating. This latest episode was a great example, in which they absolutely fawned over the black panthers. Look, I completely understand / sympathize with the motivation for such an organization to be created in segregated America. But are we seriously going to pretend the black panthers are all sunshine and rainbows?? We’re talking about a group that engaged in extrajudicial torture and killing (google Alex Rackley). There’s no need to excessively demonize the panthers either, but an honest portrayal would at least give SOME indication that they are controversial.”
