This is why
This is why we don’t need vets coming home to work as security, cops or in any high stress job that affects American lives and their futures. Damaged broken people do not belong in these positions. There are opportunities for higher education and many many other fields and professions that vets can achieve great things in but not in stressful positions that could end the lives of others. It’s time to stop the hero worship and start admitting that these people who see combat are not always well both mentally and physically, that they need help and that there is no shame in seeking help. There is a very high rate of spousal abuse, child abuse, stalking and rage in general among them not to mention suicide and murder suicide. It’s time to offer them help instead of offering that they continue to “serve” in high pressure areas with weapons.

For those of us who have never gone to war, this is a real, unsensationalized narrative from those sent to fight & the struggles upon returning. Brilliantly done.

I like the podcast. I wish the narrator would stop trying so hard to sound like the guy with a deep voice you hear in Movie Theatre Previews. Just speak normal bro, be yourself.
