Sea Scouts are our NEWSMAKERS OF THE MONTH for April. I was invited to their annual Seamanship Awards – the Seamanship Competition for Sea Scouts, which has been run every year since 1995. Supported by the Irish Institute of Master Mariners, it was held at the National Maritime College in Cork. I was impressed by the range of activities of the Sea Scouts, about which Colum McCaffrey, their Event Co-ordinator told me.
