Listen up. If you are in any field remotely related to healthcare, and particularly if you’re an MD, med student, nurse, nursing student, respiratory therapist, or journalist/blogger/tweeter on healthcare issues, you MUST listen to John Mandrola. His insights into medicine, research, ethics, hell, everything are always well thought out. He is passionate and opinionated, but never mean spirited. He does not tolerate sloppy research or lazy thinking. And yet, there’s a humility and “genuineness” about him that is very rare in our field (spoiler alert: I’m a cardiologist). Do I always agree with him? No. Do I know him personally? No. He’s made me laugh, and yes, he’s made me cry. His recent podcasts on Covid-19 are brilliant. Know this: You are missing out big time if you’re not listening. So subscribe. Promise he’ll make you think harder.
