The co-hosts have a great chemistry: Adam is a Kinks expert while Liam - a younger, musical counterpoint - is discovering the albums for the first time. It’s a song-by-song breakdown with each tune getting a hearing - and snippets of songs by other artists getting a play where they are relevant.
Even though I thought I knew a lot about the Kinks I still found some new little nuggets in the first episode: for example, I never expected ABBA to be mentioned in a discussion of the Kinks debut album.
