Interesting and thorough opener!
I was so excited listening to Up First introduce this podcast. I’m a fan of NPR’s news and politics podcasts and I’ve been searching for a good history podcast. I don’t want one about random stuff I’ve never heard about, I want one to give context to the stuff we hear about today, the headlines. I studied history in college, loved history classes in junior high and high school and not once in all my schooling did we talk (for more than a day) about the events between 1950-2000. I’ve read maybe a paragraph about the Iranian revolution, always wanted to know more, and this episode explained it in an interesting, thorough and well produced way. I can’t wait to hear more, I’m so excited for the next episodes and pumped about this project. I’m glad they noticed the hole in history podcasts that I’ve also noticed. Way to go NPR.

The hosts are awesome, and the production was amazing. A cinematic experience. A history podcast for people who thought they would never be history nerds. Excited to hear more!!!

Love the fresh approach to the behind the scene of today’s issues. Many of which have historical roots that have been forgotten by time and convenience. While we all spin, we should have an honest peek at the roots. Well done!

Who knew that a podcast could make unknown (at least to me) history of Iranian/US relations so interesting?
