Having travelled with my grandma by train all over northern Ontario and onwards I always had a very backwards and biased view of indigenous people. We often ended up in small towns where “Indians” were to be avoided and not looked in the eye. They were all drunk and dangerous. How awful to look back and think that is how I perceived them. I am on a personal quest to understand the history and abuses indigenous people have suffered and I am thankful there are podcasts like this to help understand the plight of so many vulnerable youth.
