Jimmy Carter’s lust
I just listened to episode 8.5. It sounded like you are not familiar with the interview Jimmy Carter did with Playboy (I think when he was running for president in 1976). He admitted to looking at women with lust and ‘committed adultery in my heart’. So the reference the book made wasn’t correct (ie no lust in the heart) but something similar was said and was quite controversial in 1976. I really enjoyed this podcast. It’s incredible to me that ‘all that’ was going on in secret. The culture was so different then - people were so repressed, they didn’t talk about sex at all.
