Indispensable to Me
I started listening to this podcast a few days after we got my daughter’s diagnosis. It helped me then to understand what was happening to us, what our options were, and what to expect both practically and psychologically/emotionally. It also showed me that I would survive, though that felt impossible at the time. Losing our beloved baby due to fatal abnormalities has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through, as will be the case for most people who have to walk this torturous path. This podcast has been one of the greatest helpers and sources of support to me both before, during, and after our TFMR. It informed me prior, gave me solace during my long labor, and in the immediate aftermath I listened to others stories and cried for weeks on end, which I needed. As months have passed it continues to help me process the grief and trauma and understand my experience within a larger societal context. I’m deeply grateful for Haley’s work, her bravery and deep compassion. If you’ve gone through any kind of baby loss, know someone who has, work in the medical field, care about reproductive rights and access, or just want to be a better and more compassionate person, this podcast is a must listen.
