“First off, I have to give my respect to Nicole, the host. It takes time and courage to do a podcast, especially solo. Maybe the only people that should review podcasts, are other podcasters, of which I’m not. That said and out of the way, I wish she would read her stories more naturally. The creaking smoke and whiskey voice is great, on an old blues man as he works a slide on his fretboard. Add in the amplified sound of every breath and saliva pop as her tongue forms words and it’s way too much. It’s distracting and takes away from the story. Kind of like when you were a teen in school, if you had to try to be cool, you weren’t cool. If you have to try to sound sexy and arousing as hard as the host does, then you’re not being sexy and arousing. I have a distinct feeling that if Nicole would stop trying to be so “hot,” she could be, “oh so hot” I’m not trying to be mean and/or unnecessarily negative. I obviously listen to this podcast, so it must have some things going for it. It’s just that it could be so much more, with less.”
