Listen now
Description
On this episode we talk about the North American Total Solar Eclipse happening on April 8th, 2024! We break it down into three parts: (1) What to Expect, (2) What to do during the Eclipse, and (3) Our Telescopes Vespera and our newest Vaonis device - Hestia. We close out the episode with an unboxing and first demo with Hestia practicing for the Total Solar Eclipse. There is always lots of excitement around any eclipse, but you want to be as present as possible to soak in this wild phenomena! So let this episode act as a guide to make the most of it, with some tips on what to look for during the eclipse and some tools you can use. While it will be my third solar eclipse, it's my first chance to watch a Total Solar Eclipse and catch the Corona during totality. And there's a chance we might even see something else during totality - a comet tail! But more on that in the episode... Let us know where you'll be watching the eclipse and whether it's your first or your 50th! We'd love to hear from you. Email us at [email protected] Topics from the episode: eclipse, telescope, hestia, sun, totality, lens, total solar eclipse, camera, eyepiece, corona, excited, app, view, filter, solar, easy, focus, comet, device, perfect SOURCES: https://www.astronomy.com/science/the-devil-comet-is-headed-our-way-and-thats-still-ok/ https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/april-8-2024 https://www.astronomy.com/observing/a-comet-will-be-visible-during-the-2024-total-solar-eclipse/ https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa?iso=20240408 The 'Topics from the episode' above and the timestamps below for the episode were generated using AI (otter.ai) by processing the audio file.
